On 08/1/2013-08/2/2013, Parole Association of Georgia members from all across the State congregated in Athens, Georgia to learn more about and celebrate "The Role We Play in Criminal Justice Reform." This 2 day mini-conference was a great opportunity for staff to fellowship and build lasting professional bonds while having a brief discussion on our work and the affect it has on the community.

The workshop was opened on Thursday with Judge Michael P. Boggs of the Georgia Court of Appeals speaking members about the working being done on Special Council on Criminal Justice Reform and it's affect on our communities.

Members then divided into breakout sessions on Safety Awareness & Drug Identification hosted by the Board of Pardons and Paroles Training Department and the GBI respectively.

Day 2 of the Workshop included the awarding of one of our yearly scholarships, an Awesome Panel Discussion by our Chair and a Prestigious member and final discussions by Rep. Jay Lewis & Judge Patrick Haggard.
